The Phoneographer Explores: Giro d’Italia


Giro d’Italia, one of the world’s greatest cycling events, arrived in Ireland on Sunday, 11th of May.

This Grand Tour, famously won by Ireland’s Stephen Roche in 1987, seen the world’s best cyclists race 187km from Armagh to Dublin with a fantastic carnival atmosphere of this sporting spectacle all along the route as many people enjoyed the festivities and cheered on the titans on two wheels.

 200 elite cyclists battled it out for the coveted pink jersey through the streets of Dundalk, Drogheda, Malahide and Clontarf before they raced to the finish line in Dublin’s Merrion Square!
